Charleswood Caring and Sharing Food Bank
Over 50 volunteers - parishioners and community neighbours and friends - meet in the hall to organize the food bank at St. Mary, a partner agency of Harvest Manitoba. Since opening in 2014, we have increased our client base from 24 to 40 biweekly! Covid-19 protocols have been implemented for volunteers and clients by Harvest and the Diocese of Rupert's Land, which enable us to operate with everyone's health and safety in mind.

Interested in Volunteering? Come be part of our food bank team, help is always welcomed and appreciated. You can join a volunteer team or just drop by to lend a hand on any food bank day. Currently three teams of volunteers are scheduled on a rotating basis. Some come at 1pm to receive the delivery from Harvest and set-up, the rest come later to operate the Food Bank when clients attend, and clean up afterwards. Please contact our Food Bank coordinator Susan at [email protected] for further information about volunteering. |
We acknowledge that we meet and work on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional land of the Anishinaabe, Cree, and Dakota peoples and the homeland of the Metis Nation. We are grateful for their stewardship of this land and their hospitality which allows us to live, work and serve God the Creator here.
